Recruitment and marketing agency Uniquely Wired met social enterprise Beam at a We Make Change Homelessness Community Meeting in September. United in their aims to tackle homelessness, they have since partnered to create sustainable change.
With pressure mounting to find reliable funding for non-profits in an uncertain economic climate, Uniquely Wired have developed an ingenious method to encourage people to give to charitable causes. Their sustainable giving program offers unique rewards every time an applicant refers a candidate through the agency. The applicant will receive a monetary bonus for a successful referral, plus a donation credited in their name to help fund employment opportunities for people living rough on the streets of London. The donation will go to Beam, which funds training for homeless people and allows you to keep up to date with their journey.
The program empowers applicants to make a positive change, whilst benefiting their own interests. This encourages long-term funding, by minimising the perceived cost to the individual and maximising the direct impact they can have on someone’s life. The appeal is that all three parties gain something from the program: Beam gains funding for it’s training opportunities for the homeless, the applicant gains both a referral bonus and the chance to impact someone’s life for the better, and Uniquely Wired gain recruitment opportunities for their company. This is the beauty and success of sustainable giving – the cost of giving is minimal, the funding is sustained, but most importantly: the end result could be life-changing.
